Mr Aman Khanna

Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon

Mr Aman Khanna is a highly skilled Consultant Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Surgeon with a specialist interest in Rhinology and Facial plastics. He currently serves at the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust, primarily based at Heartlands Hospital. With a distinguished academic background, Mr Khanna earned his medical degree from the University of Leicester, where he also completed a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree. He furthered his qualifications with postgraduate training, gaining the FRCS (ORL-HNS) and MRCS, alongside other specialist qualifications in Otolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery.

Mr Khanna has been recognised for his expertise in the field of rhinology and facial plastic surgery, having undertaken advanced fellowship training at Charing Cross Hospital in London, a renowned centre for Rhinology, Facial Plastics and Advanced Sinus Surgery. His extensive clinical experience spans over a decade, during which he has managed complex sinonasal and facial plastic cases, integrating both medical and surgical interventions to provide comprehensive patient care.

In addition to his clinical practice, Mr Khanna holds significant academic and teaching roles. He is the ENT Undergraduate Year 4 Curriculum Lead at the University of Birmingham Medical School, where he shapes the education of future medical professionals. His dedication to medical education is further highlighted through his role as a Clinical Simulation Tutor at the University Hospitals Birmingham, where he contributes to high-fidelity simulation training, enhancing both undergraduate and postgraduate medical education.

Mr Khanna’s commitment to surgical excellence is demonstrated through his involvement as faculty at numerous national and international rhinology and facial plastic surgery courses. His teaching extends to both cadaveric dissection courses and simulation-based training, where he actively contributes to advancing surgical skills in rhinology and endoscopic sinus surgery.

In addition to his clinical and teaching responsibilities, Mr Khanna has been an active contributor to research and audit in ENT, with multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals. His work has provided valuable insights into rhinology, facial plastics, and head and neck surgery, with a focus on improving patient outcomes and advancing surgical techniques.

Throughout his career, Mr Khanna has demonstrated a strong commitment to patient care, medical education, and advancing the field of ENT surgery. His expertise, combined with his academic and teaching roles, positions him as a leading figure in rhinology and facial plastics within the NHS.

Research & Publications

After completing his Senior House Officer training Mr Simon Radley undertook a period of research into colorectal cancer and submitted a thesis for which he was awarded an MD by the University of Birmingham.

He has published widely on colorectal disease and in particular functional bowel disorders. He has written several book chapters.
